چکیده
Microplastic (MP) sorption and transfer of chemical contaminants has been widely reported, yet few studies have investigated combined effects contaminant-loaded MPs on organisms. This study examined pristine or chlorpyrifos (CPF)-loaded polystyrene (PS) fragments histopathological histomorphometrical biomarkers in rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss). In laboratory, O. mykiss were exposed for 96 h to PS-MPs concentrations (30 300 µg/L), CPF alone (2 6 the same presence aquaria. Results showed highest alterations both when with fish gills. Alternatively, high lesions including massive necrosis, infiltration inflammatory cells, shed villi tips observed gut PS-MP (6 μg/L CPF+300 PS-MPs). Individual together significant changes gills, skin. Findings highlight that cause toxicity increase adverse mykiss, especially gill tissue. We present evidence short-term exposure even low a impact biomarker responses mykiss.

Rainbow Trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss
Rainbow trout are classified as Oncorhynchus mykiss, and as such belong to the same genus as Pacific salmon, and to the family Salmonidae, which includes Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), various trout (Salvelinus sp.), Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus), Arctic grayling (Thymallus arcticus) and whitefish (Coregonus sp.). Rainbow trout are native to areas around the North Pacific Ocean, from souther...
متن کاملBiochemical characterization of microcystin toxicity in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
The kinetics and biochemical effects of microcystins in rainbow trout were studied with freeze-dried toxic cells of Microcystis aeruginosa, strain PCC 7806. Following in vivo exposure the changes in liver histology were observed over a 72 hr period and the absorption of microcystins from the gastrointestinal tract into the blood and liver, as well as the inhibition of hepatic protein phosphatas...
متن کاملInteraction between dietary calcium supplementation and chronic waterborne zinc exposure in juvenile rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss.
This study investigated the effects of dietary Ca2+ on branchial Ca2+ and Zn2+ uptake, new and total zinc accumulation in target tissues (gill, liver and kidney), calcium and zinc homeostasis, and acute tolerance to waterborne zinc in fish chronically exposed to waterborne zinc. Juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were maintained on a calcium-enriched diet [41.2 mg vs. 21.2 mg (control...
متن کاملDietary exposure of juvenile rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) to 1,2-bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)ethane (BTBPE): Bioaccumulat
Introduction Some chemical members of the family of bromine-based flame retardants are now ubiquitous in the environment. Brominated diphenyl ethers (BDEs), for example, have been detected globally in almost every environmental compartment and their detection has forced industry to phase out production of two formulations: penta and octa-mixtures. In response to this, the BFR industry has begun...
